Ian Burr

Visual Information Specialist

Ian Burr is a 3D and XR specialist at ECDS, where he leads immersive technology strategy and development in the Digital Visualization Lab. With a background in psychology and a strong foundation in 3D modeling, Ian specializes in virtual reconstructions of historical and archaeological environments. His work supports scholarly research, public engagement, and classroom innovation through interactive digital media. 

In addition to his technical expertise in 3D workflows and real-time visualization, Ian is interested in the broader implications of digital heritage, user experience in XR environments, and the ethics of representation. His research interests extend into how virtual space design improves learning and shapes perception and behavior. 

Ian regularly teaches workshops on 3D modeling, and he collaborates with faculty and students across disciplines to bring digital projects to life.
