John Halbert

Visual Information Specialist

John is a 3D environment specialist at the Emory Center for Digital Scholarship, where he works with researchers and faculty to bring digital experiences and research to life, helping to create 3D interactive environments and XR applications. He specializes in taking 3D models based on historical and real-world objects, such as the buildings in an archeological dig site or the displays at a museum exhibit, and takes them into a virtual environment so that users can experience and learn about them. 
John works with other colleagues at ECDS in the Digital Visualization Lab, researching and experimenting with new technologies and methods for creating and democratizing 3D and XR experiences.
